“And I’m expected to do what exactly with that?”

Yes, I’m sorry about this, but this is a cat post. No I’m not, I’m not really sorry about this, I’m obsessed with my fluffy constant companion but I’m totally aware that cats can polarise people online. Except maybe LOLCats, everyone loves that, but I’m very aware of scoffs and poo-poos about my beloved Instagram because it’s full of people’s cats and lunches. I’m not a fan of the What’s On My Plate picture and don’t really follow foodies, but I do like a good cat picture. My guilty pleasure on Instagram are the cat-only pics. Cats being cute and fluffy, ‘helping’ to read the newspaper and desk work, and doing what cats are really good at – the all day nap.

I noticed a lot of napping cats on corrugated cardboard purpose built boxes. And then I saw a few sitting and climbing and scratching on purpose built corrugated cardboard plinths. So when we saw a corrugated cardboard scratching box at the pet shop we grabbed it. It was only $12, worth a try, we thought, those Instagram cats look so happy on theirs ….

It took a few days with her sitting next to it wondering why we thought she’d like that.

But once she gave it a good old scratch it was scratching box heaven. I can’t believe the magic spell this simple corrugated box has cast on her. She’s happy and content, foresaking all previously favoured napping spots for this.

If you’ve read this far you are clearly a cat person and would like to know that I think this is the best thing we have offered Her. And totally recyclable when it’s time to replace, if she’ll let us go anywhere near it that is.
