Extreme Crochet

I’m a wild crocheting banshee trying to get all these goodies made in time to be shipped off across the country.  Every minute is scheduled to the enth degree. Unrelenting and not stopping for any man, woman or child.  Or cat.  For the record, HRH is not exactly thrilled by this situation.  Playing second fiddle to anything is not her style at all.

I’ve had to resort to some pretty extreme measures to keep my poor fingers from working to the bone.  These little rubber thimbles are the best!

Meanwhile … my agapanthus are budding.  I love this stage.  They look like little Dr Who-like aliens unfolding.

Come to think of it they look remarkably like my over-crocheted, haggard and crone-like fingers.  Note to self:  stock up on rubber thimbles!  And more glucosamine!  And hand cream!  Pronto!!

Next on the list, a garland for Broome.  Wish I could deliver it personally, I’ve never been to Broome!

Hope the sun is shining where you are and you’ve got some clever ways to cope with your busy days!

Crayon Chick - Hello
Since writing this post ages ago, I’ve since discovered Clover brand hooks. They have a rubbery/silicone handle which is so much easier to use. Good luck with your crochet!

NanC - As a fellow manic crocheter, I wonder, have you ever tried Susan Bates’ “in-line” style hooks? Not a brand plug, honest! But my daughter and I just find that they are way easier to pull through. My partner made a wood handle cover for mine, which is perfect. Handles on commercial ones are never right for the way I hold mine. (Love your work, btw!)
