“Buying handmade items makes people feel good, warm and fuzzy”
There’s a mantra to warm the cockles of a crafter’s heart! I just survived a trip to one of the biggest shopping centres in the country – Chadstone – where I never go. I don’t enjoy shopping centres but this was unavoidable. Seems you have to find a specially designated Australia Post to renew your drivers licence now. Who knew? Not me. But it was a good chance to catch up with some new magazines, including the Spring 2010 Shop 4 Kids with some of my goodies in the ‘Made With Love’ article. It’s a fabulous article about supporting local talent and buying handmade.
I know it makes me feel good, warm and fuzzy to make things, and especially when I have the chance to share my creations with others. It’s a fabulous article and one that cuts straight to my heart.
And I was pretty chuffed to see my alphabet badges making another appearance recently, this time on the Madeit blog, another place to find handmade goodies online.
Isn’t this cool! If only I had an iPhone. Imagine if I joined the 21st century and got one then I could download Apps like this – Handmade in Melbourne.
I’m pretty excited about this because this is the edition with me in it! It’s another wonderful publication celebrating the hand-crafted, the artisan and the handmade culture.
Better get back to it, I’ve got gorgeous Father’s Day orders waiting on my desk for me to make (by hand with love!) and I can’t wait to see how they all turn out.
I do love a little behind the scenes fun at a market. Thanks, Pia, for my lovely handmade coconut slice, one of my favourite baked goods, especially with a birthday candle!
